Hidden Valley Inn is an intimate, homestead style Inn that has a remote location on a spectacular 7,200 acre private reserve within the protected Mountain Pine Forest Reserve. The reserve encompasses areas of pine forest and tropical broadleaf forest, with an impressive escarpment and numerous waterfalls and pools carved by the rivers and streams cutting through granite. Guests have access to over 90 miles of well maintained hiking and mountain biking trails yet some of the reserve is still uncharted.
Rooms: There are 10 comfortable, individual rooms that are set in landscaped gardens and have fireplaces, screened windows and ceiling fans. There are two Estate Suites that have private screened patios with matrimonial hammocks, spacious bathrooms with rolltop bath and outdoor waterfall shower built with polished granite from the property and surrounded by tropical orchids. These two rooms are adjoining and are ideal for guests travelling together or families.
Dining: Meals are served in the dining area within the main lodge. We recommend the inclusive meal plan due to the lodge#039;s remote location. Lunch and Dinner are set menus with two options daily (including vegetarian), dinner is a four course meal. Packed lunches are available for hiking and biking trips.
Onsite: There is a small pool and hot tub near the main lodge, ideal after a day hiking. There are Spa services available and a gift shop in the main lodge. Guests can explore the trails independently by hiking or biking; packed lunches can be provided, and walkie talkies enabling guests to explore trails further from the inn, before calling for a pickup at the end of the day. Early morning bird walks and nocturnal walks are available. Guided vehicle tours of the reserve are available and are an ideal way to see the various viewpoints across the escarpment.
Our Comment: Hidden Valley Inn offers an incredibly unique experience combining breathtaking views, beautiful waterfalls and jungle canopy trails. We recommend Hidden Valley Inn for active, adventurers that like to explore independently. The knowledgeable and friendly guides also make this a great choice for bird watchers and nature lovers
